Ali Muhammad Ali (born 7 June 1966), often credited as Ali M. Ali, is a Nigerian media executive and journalist currently serving as the managing director and chief executive officer of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).[1][2]

[edit]A native of Kano State, Nigeria, Ali was born on 7 June 1966.[2] He completed his undergraduate studies in English as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Mass Communication at Bayero University Kano. He later earned a master's degree in International Affairs from Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria.[3]
Career
[edit]Ali's professional background in journalism and media administration spans over three decades.[3] On 19 October 2023, President Bola Tinubu appointed him to head the News Agency of Nigeria as managing director and chief executive officer, taking over from Buki Ponle.[1] In 2026, his tenure was extended for an additional three-year term effective 20 October 2026.[4]
