Alan Styles was the former roadie of Pink Floyd and is known for his vocals and sound effects on "Alans Psychedelic Breakfast"[1]. He was born October 5th, 1936, in Cambridge, England. He died of pneumonia on December 8th, 2011, at the age of 75.[2] In his youth, Styles knew David Gilmour. He also appears in the back cover of "Ummagumma".[3]
In the song, Alan can be heard talking about his breakfast and also talking about breakfast he had had in the past. He can also be heard preparing his food, with the sounds of him pouring Rice Krispies and frying Bacon.[4]
