Club Chabab Larache (شباب العرائش), commonly known as Chabab Larache, is a Moroccan association football club based in Larache. Founded in 1953 during the Spanish protectorate era in northern Morocco, the club historically featured in top-flight Moroccan competitions.[1]
History
[edit]Chabab Larache was established in 1953 in Larache, combining local sports movements from the Spanish protectorate region.[2] Following Moroccan independence in 1956, the club integrated into the unified national league system organized by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF).
The club enjoyed its golden era during the late 1950s and 1960s, competing in the top-flight Botola Pro. Chabab Larache reached the semifinals of the Throne Cup in the 1960–61 season.[3]
In subsequent decades, Chabab Larache bounced between the Botola Pro 2 and lower national amateur divisions, eventually settling into the Moroccan National Amateur Championship tiers.
Stadium
[edit]The club plays its home matches at the historic Stade Santa Bárbara (ملعب التريبول) in Larache, which has a capacity of approximately 4,900 spectators.
