Beth Rennie (born 27 March 2006) is a Scottish association footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Boroughmuir Thistle in the Scottish Women's Premier League 2.[1] A product of the Heart of Midlothian academy, she has represented Scotland at under-17 and under-19 level.[2]

Club career

[edit]

Rennie developed in the Hearts academy and spent the 2023–24 season on loan at Boroughmuir Thistle.[2] In August 2023, she was selected in the Scottish Women's Premier League Team of the Week after saving a penalty in Boroughmuir's 1–0 defeat to Kilmarnock.[3]

On 19 July 2024, Rennie signed her first professional contract with Hearts, initially running until the summer of 2026.[2] She joined Dundee United on loan the following month and made her debut against Celtic on the opening weekend of the 2024–25 Scottish Women's Premier League season.[4][5] In September, she made six saves in a 1–1 draw with Aberdeen and was again selected in the league's Team of the Week.[6]

Rennie was named Dundee United Women's Players' Player of the Year at the end of the 2024–25 season.[7] Hearts announced in June 2025 that she would leave the club that summer.[8] She subsequently returned to Boroughmuir Thistle for the 2025–26 season.[9]

International career

[edit]

Rennie has represented Scotland at under-17 and under-19 level.[2] She was selected for the Scotland under-19 squad for the second round of qualification for the 2024 UEFA Women's Under-19 Championship in April 2024.[10] Scotland defeated Liechtenstein, Cyprus and Albania to win their group and earn promotion to League A.[11]
