Benjamin T. Smith is an English historian of Mexico, and Professor of Latin American History at the University of Warwick.[1]

A prominent scholar of drug trafficking in Mexico, he has written for both academic and popular audiences. His 2021 book The Dope: The Real History of the Mexican Drug Trade was reviewed in the Hispanic American Historical Review and the Journal of Contemporary History, and its Spanish translation in Estudios Sociológicos.[2][3][4]
