William Trudeau (born October 11, 2002) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman for the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted in the fourth round, 113th overall, by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2021 NHL entry draft.

Trudeau was drafted in the fourth round, 113th overall, by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2021 NHL entry draft.[1] He began his career with the Charlottetown Islanders of the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). In three seasons, he recorded 20 goals and 70 assists from 2019 to 2022.[2]

On October 14, 2022, he signed a three-year entry level contract with the Canadiens.[3] During the 2022–23 season, in his rookie season, he recorded seven goals and 20 assists in 60 games. During the 2023–24 season, he recorded eight goals and 16 assists in 70 games. During the 2024–25 season, he recorded five goals and 14 assists in 68 games.[4] On July 3, 2025, he signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Canadiens.[5]

During the 2025–26 season, he recorded eight goals and 12 assists in 62 games for the Rockets. Among all Rocket defensemen, he ranked third in goals and fourth in assists and points. On June 26, 2026, he was traded to the New York Rangers in exchange for Brett Berard.[6] In four seasons with the Rocket he recorded 28 goals and 62 assists in 260 games. On July 6, 2026, he signed a one-year contract with the Rangers.[4]

On September 26, 2026, he was claimed off waivers by the Nashville Predators.[7] He made the Predators' opening night roster.[8]
