Wikipedia:Someone else fix it

Often when someone else says "so fix it", they really mean "someone else should fix it".
The idea of telling someone "so fix it" is inherently hypocritical. Whoever told you to fix the article instead of complaining about it could have fixed the article themselves, instead of complaining about your complaint!
The idea of telling someone else to fix something flies in the face of the voluntary nature of Wikipedia. All work here is not required. If someone points out a problem, it's not necessarily their responsibility to fix it. This goes both ways: just because you point out a problem doesn't make it their responsibility to fix it. Maybe you're the only person who thinks the problem is important, so why should they fix the thing they think is acceptable, just because you think it's a problem?
On occasion, "so fix it" has been invoked in opposition to deletion in deletion discussions or {{prod}} objections where WP:TNT may be appropriate – assuming the article contains nothing useful. (Keep in mind that even very short articles and uncited information can be useful, e.g., if it links to other relevant articles.)
