Wikipedia:Salted drafts

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is a list of topics for which draft pages have been creation-protected ("salted") so that only certain editors can recreate them. Several of the salted draftspace titles are those of drafts that had been repeatedly recreated after being deleted in response to their being tendentiously resubmitted despite being rejected.

Unlike with Wikipedia:Deletion review/Perennial requests, which only keeps track of topics that have already been (or are likely to be) brought up at deletion review multiple times, being brought up at deletion review is not a requirement for inclusion on this list. Instead, a topic can be listed here if at least one draftspace title pertaining to it is currently (or had been) under creation protection and/or on the TitleBlacklist.[a]

Current examples

[edit]

This is a list of topics for which there is no article and at least one pertinent draftspace title is currently salted. If an article is created about any of these subjects, its corresponding entry can be moved to § Historical examples, even if drafts about it are still salted.

This section does not include topics that should not be covered on Wikipedia regardless of coverage in reliable sources.

Can only be recreated by extended confirmed users

[edit]

Joseph Hayat

[edit]

A journalist who served in a youth parliament. A draft about this person was salted in 2018, recreated in 2020, and deleted and salted again in 2021.

SuperMarioLogan

[edit]

A draft about this YouTube channel was salted in 2020 after recreations of it had been deleted under criteria G13, G11 and G5 respectively. Draft:SML (web series) has also been salted since 2021.

Can only be recreated by administrators

[edit]

Anthony Eugene Campbell

[edit]

An individual who may have coached some players who went on to play for the NFL. A draft about this person was deleted and salted in 2017 to stop tendentious resubmissions.

Not to be confused with Olympic hurdler Tonie Campbell, who has the exact same name.

DeSmuME

[edit]

A draft about this Nintendo DS game emulator was deleted and salted in 2019 to prevent it from being resubmitted after being rejected.

JackSucksAtLife

[edit]

Drafts about this YouTuber under the titles Jack Massey Welsh and JackSucksAtLife were first salted in 2019.

Kundan Srivastava

[edit]

A draft about this human rights activist was deleted in April 2015 to stop tendentious resubmissions and salted in June to prevent recreation. A mainspace article with this title wasn't created until 2020, by which point it was subsequently deleted and salted as well.

S4 League

[edit]

A multiplayer online third-person shooter game developed by Neowiz MUCA in 2008 for Windows. A draft about this game was deleted and salted in 2016 to stop tendentious resubmissions. Its mainspace counterpart has never been salted.

Sprunki

[edit]

A fan-made mod of Incredibox made in Scratch. A draft about this game was deleted and salted in 2025 to stop tendentious resubmissions.

Historical examples

[edit]

This section is for topics that have had draftspace pages salted in the past. In some cases, a live article about a subject may exist even though one or more draft titles pertaining to it is still salted.

Annamalai Kuppusamy

[edit]

A draft about this Bharatiya Janata Party politician had been salted in January 2023 to stop tendentious resubmissions. Drafts had also been created under the titles Annamalai k, K. Annamalai, and K. Annamalai (BJP politician), but none of those were salted.

Battle for Dream Island

[edit]

A draft about this Flash-animated web series was deleted and salted in 2019, recreated in October 2025 following a discussion at the Administrators' Noticeboard, and moved into the mainspace on November 1 after passing a deletion review.

Cary and Michael Huang

[edit]

Creators of Battle for Dream Island and The Scale of the Universe. A draft about them was deleted and salted in 2023 to stop tendentious resubmissions, and because it had been "yet another attempt to Trojan [BFDI] into Wikipedia" before it became notable in 2025. That particular draftspace title was never unsalted, but unsalting is no longer necessary at this point, as Draft:Huang brothers was created and accepted in 2025 after the article about Battle for Dream Island was recreated.

Miniminter

[edit]

A draft about this YouTuber had been deleted in March 2021 to stop tendentious resubmissions and salted in August to prevent it from being recreated. In July 2023, the salt was upgraded from extended confirmed protection to full protection so only administrators could recreate it, but its mainspace counterpart was recreated just a few days later and has not been nominated for deletion since.

Miss Grand International 2015

[edit]

The draftspace title was salted in 2015 alongside its mainspace counterpart so that only sysops could recreate them. After a 2023 deletion review, the mainspace article had its creation protection downgraded so that extended confirmed editors could recreate it.
