Redirect request: Çardak, Kâhta

• Target of redirect: Çardak, Kahta
• Reason: Spelling with diacritic. The official Turkish name of the district is Kâhta, which is the spelling used in the article's lead, its infobox and the district article Kâhta District. Readers searching with the circumflex should reach this article.
• Source (if applicable): Türkiye Mülki İdare Bölümleri Envanteri, T.C. İçişleri Bakanlığı: https://www.e-icisleri.gov.tr/Anasayfa/MulkiIdariBolumleri.aspx

FootnoteExplorer (talk) 22:06, 26 September 2026 (UTC)

• Comment: I'm wondering if this (and the other pages linked from Kâhta District) should instead be moved to have the diacritic? But a similar question on that talk page has had no reply for years. LittlePuppers (talk) 02:49, 27 September 2026 (UTC)

Thanks, LittlePuppers. I agree that a move of the whole series would be the better long-term fix. It probably belongs at WP:RM as a multi-page request rather than here. May I suggest going ahead with the redirect in the meantime? It will be useful either way: if the articles are moved, the redirect simply points the other way. FootnoteExplorer (talk) 05:53, 27 September 2026 (UTC)

Pinging Semsûrî who started the aforementioned discussion; though this is probably not the place to discuss moves. LittlePuppers (talk) 03:06, 27 September 2026 (UTC)

FootnoteExplorer, do you have other sources for this? I'm not able to access the site you link, https://www.kahta.bel.tr/ doesn't use the diacritic, and see Talk:Kâhta District. You're also welcome to open this yourself at WP:RM. (Note: I have no objection to anyone else here answering this request.) LittlePuppers (talk) 21:38, 3 October 2026 (UTC)
