This page is to help coordinate meetups of Wikipedians from Tokyo and the surrounding area in Japan. Please make suggestions for good places to meet below, and add your name to the list of people who are interested in coming. Once we get a decent number, we'll figure out when and where, based on the suggestions.
Interested Wikipedians
[edit]Please put your general location in parentheses after your name. This is so we can see the best general location for a meetup (most convenient for the most number of people).

[edit]Translation workshop in Tokyo
[edit]I will organize a translation workshop in Tokyo next month! Participants will translate from/to Japanese Wikipedia. It will be also an occasion to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Japanese Wikipedia, which was virtually started in September 2002. If you are interested in, feel free to contact me (The workshop will be run in Japanese). Thanks! https://irc.aa.tufs.ac.jp/event/jawp15ws.html kzhr (talk) 15:32, 21 September 2017 (UTC)
September 2011 (spontaneous)
[edit]Someone here who like to have some spontaneous meetup with me on 08.09.2011 (maybe in Roppongi) or 09.09.2011 (maybe in Akkihabara)? I am from Germany and will leave Japan on Saturday. I had planned to have some Wiki-Meeting with some guys from Germany, but unfortunately it seems to be that none is available. Would be nice to have some company... --Tom Knox (talk) 12:34, 7 September 2011 (UTC)
November 2010
[edit]I'd like you to know Wikimedia engineer Ryan Lane is coming to the city. He'll give a tech talk on the 7th Sunday for Japanese audience mainly, for encourage them to get involved into MediaWiki development community. After the talk, a small party with attendees is being planned. I'm not sure until when he'll be in Tokyo; you could ask him directly. --Aphaia (talk) 00:24, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
