File upload request declined. So I'm going to use my discretion here and decline both this request and the one below it on two grounds. One Wikipedia:Signatures of living persons are a thorny area by itself. There are a lot of issues surrounding them both legally and ethically. And two, Wikipedia:Village pump (proposals)/Archive 142#RfC: Proposal - Removal of signature fields. I don't see how the signature of this person would have enough encyclopedic significant to override point one. Especially considering the background of the person. For those reasons, I'm declining this request. Of course anyone is free to upload it under their name if they wish to do so. I'm just not going to do so. --Majora (talk) 22:10, 21 January 2018 (UTC)

File upload request declined. I have a lot of concerns about this image. These include, the image size, the lack of EXIF metadata, and the fact that the image can be found elsewhere on the Internet. I am not saying that Caesars Entertainment isn't the copyright holder and that they don't have the right to release the image. Just that there is enough doubt in my mind to want OTRS proof before uploading the image under my name.

If you wish to go down this route you can send an email to Caesars asking them to fill out the form located at c:COM:ET and to send it into our OTRS team at photosubmissionwikimedia.org. They will take a look at it and verify the content and then upload the photo that way. Sorry about the inconvenience. There is just too many questions. --Majora (talk) 23:40, 23 January 2018 (UTC)

On hold @Storybox03: Is there any indication that this is actually an official logo? Any official link that shows this logo? The World Vector Logo site is a third-party site and I'm not entirely sure if that is actually correct. The logo itself is not copyrighted. It is {{PD-textlogo}}. Copyright and trademark are two separate things. However, adding a non-official logo to an article really doesn't fit with our image policy. I'm going to put this request on hold for seven days pending a response. After which it will be declined. --Majora (talk) 05:39, 22 January 2018 (UTC)

This must be an official logo because a similar logo appears on a PowerPC chip in an image at http://www.silirium.ru/pictures/ibm-PPC405GP-3BE200C.jpg -- Storybox03 (talk) 19:05, 25 January 2018 (UTC)

As a side point, surely this could be considered {{PD-textlogo}}. I mean, compare to COM:TOO. Killiondude (talk) 23:16, 25 January 2018 (UTC)

I never once claimed it would not be PD-textlogo. I explicitly said it wasn't copyrighted in my first post. It had to do with putting a fake, or user created, logo on an article. It seems like everything seems to be in order and I'll upload this tonight if no one beats me to it. --Majora (talk) 23:18, 25 January 2018 (UTC)

Ha. I read your first question above and stopped to examine the source before continuing to read. Silly me. Killiondude (talk) 23:20, 25 January 2018 (UTC)

File upload request declined. The file is copyrighted and not free. It very clearly says ©2018 mary11dc on the image. Just because something is online doesn't mean it is public domain. Quite the opposite actually. --Majora (talk) 22:29, 26 January 2018 (UTC)

Description: The image is a single frame low-resolution screen capture of the title card from the TV show 'The End of the F***ing World'.

License: {{Non-free use rationale title-card | Article = The End of the F***ing World | Use = Infobox | Source = | Portion = | Low resolution = The copy is of sufficient resolution for commentary and identification but lower resolution than the original poster. Copies made from it will be of inferior quality, unsuitable as counterfeit artwork, pirate versions or for uses that would compete with the commercial purpose of the original artwork. | Replaceability = Because title cards or screens contain unique (and typically protected) creative expression, there is almost certainly no free equivalent. Article To Be Used On/Reason For Upload: The End of the F***ing World infobox picture, current picture is inappropriate for this use as it is a regional poster and does not follow convention.

Done - See File:The End of the F***ing World Title Card.png. I've uploaded this as fair use, even though it's basically plain text, out of an abundance of caution for UK standards for the threshold for originality, which half the time means a stray coffee stain is copyrightable. But any way you look at it, plain text is going to be more free than an image containing the same text plus a screenshot in the background, meaning we should be using this version instead. Done - I'm leery that some of the other images from that Flickr account may have been taken from online, and still a little bit suspicious that this may not be an original work, but instead a screenshot taken in a way that can't be verified. But having said that, I've looked and I can't verify myself that this isn't an original work of the uploader, and the image quality and positioning is consistent with an image taken from someone in the crowd during a concert. So the licensing on Fickr seems to be the best we have to go by. See File:Buddha Lama (27949073479).jpg. GMG ^talk 13:57, 25 January 2018 (UTC)

Not done Gudiprasanna1990: Unfortunately, you cannot simply upload images taken from a subject's facebook profile. The copyright for an image is normally owned by the person who took the photo, not the person pictured in it, and the owner needs to be the one to license the image appropriately. Just because someone has posted it to facebook, does not mean it's been licensed for public use in a way that is compatible with Wikipedia. If the owner would like to do so, they can follow these instructions to license it appropriately. GMG ^talk 11:22, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
