I'm not sure if I could speedy this or not, so I'm bringing this here.

Long story short, this was uploaded in 2013 Devlin crow, with the assertion that he held the copyright for this work and that as such, he was giving it up as fair use. However in a comment at refund he makes mention of "my client", which gives off the strong impression that he is not Crow and/or that he does not hold the copyright to the image.

To complicate things further, a GIS for the image brought up this link that credits the image to Leonardo da Vinci. Other links like this and this that show the image from different angles seems to support that this is a close up of Da Vinci's sketch. (The Royal Collection even has an image of this.)

It's possible that Crow drew a copy of the sketchbook, since a lot of artists do things like this. However this just seems to be too dodgy, given that we have no idea who actually uploaded the image (Crow? his agent?) and the person who created the image is also in question. Between these concerns and the fact that this image isn't used anywhere, I think that it'd be a good idea to just delete this from Wikipedia. Tokyogirl79 (｡◕‿◕｡) 07:43, 25 November 2015 (UTC)

• I'm aware that the basic sketch is in the public domain and I'm not sure if this was actually altered any or not. I'm leaning towards not, given that we have at least one image that is substantially similar. If any changes were made (assuming this wasn't a copy) they were so minor (or nonexistent) that I don't think that Crow could really pass this off as his work. That we don't know who uploaded it exactly is a big issue as well. I think that it'd just be a safer bet for this to be deleted, given that this is all so vague. • Delete. The image is attributed to Devlin Crow. However, the uploader has repeatedly stated that they are not Devlin Crow ( ) and no evidence has been provided that Devlin Crow has released the image under a free licence. • Delete. This file is not being used anywhere, and a better quality version can be obtained (possibly free) from https://www.royalcollection.org.uk/collection/919058/recto-the-cranium-sectioned-verso-the-skull-sectioned and uploaded to Commons. ~Amatulić (talk) 01:25, 5 December 2015 (UTC)
