Private – One or more of the filters triggered are private, and the request needs to be evaluated by an edit filter helper or manager. (automated comment) — MajavahBot (talk · contributions) 06:34, 10 July 2026 (UTC)
Checking with the edit filter managers to see if changes need to be made. We probably should warn users who try to submit non-English text in any namespace, but absent some specific reason that I'm not thinking of I don't see why this should be disallowed outright. – Taking Out The Trash (talk) 15:27, 12 July 2026 (UTC)

, and things like 44618742 are indeed what the filter is trying to catch. If an EFM or EFH says the private filter is working correctly, this can probably be closed. 45dogs (they/them) (talk page) (contributions) 19:40, 14 July 2026 (UTC)- Except that it's not a "long string of characters containing no punctuation or markup"... it's a message written in Spanish. The filter should only be looking for and catching long strings of random characters containing no punctuation or markup (i.e. gibberish). Good-faith but non-English text != gibberish. Taking Out The Trash (talk) 23:58, 14 July 2026 (UTC)
- Based on a quick skim of the filter I see nothing to determine whether the text is English or not; if I wrote a long run-on sentence in English, it would likely be a filter hit too. Rusty Cat (mobile) (talk) 01:35, 18 July 2026 (UTC)
- ...Which is not a good thing. If we want to have a filter to detect run-on sentences, that should be a separate filter and should be warn-only. A disallow filter like this one should only be looking for strings of random characters that don't actually make any comprehensible words. Taking Out The Trash (talk) 18:12, 19 July 2026 (UTC)

- Talk:John David Norman (filter log) (user filter log)
- Description
- I was asking if an externally linked article meets Wikipedia standards, and pointing out that the linked article contains inaccurate, even easily proven false, statements about the cases it discusses. And furthermore, the article appears to be simply repeating statements contained in another linked article. I wish to know, if the linked article meets Wikipedia standards. I'm not claiming that it doesn't, I'm only asking if it does.

- Draft:Gleg (filter log) (user filter log)
- Description
- I was attempting to notate a recent trend, along with the origin word which stems from the Scottish, and earlier Norse, language.
The trend is legit, with the best sources currently available.
Glegging is an extremely interesting linguistic phenomenon as it is a pattern recognition meme that exists off the internet. Due to this, glegging uniquely combines b=internet brainrot concepts with anti ai slop execution, resulting in an incredible summary of Human language.
Creating a wikipedia page for glegging will allow for the notation and documentation of the trend before it passes onto social media and mainstream internet.

- Edward Peters (prospector) (filter log) (user filter log)
- Description
- I was creating a talk topic on the use of the term 'n*ggardly' within the article, and to document my reasons for making an edit to the article itself. My reason for doing so was that it felt inappropriate given the nature of the racism directed at Edward Peters. Ironically, it appears the Wikipedia blocking policy kicked in, I imagine given the fact that the word itself might appear to be a racial slur. I have replaced the 'i' with an asterisk in the word above to avoid being blocked on this post as well. I will note that I am going to proceed with editing the page anyway, as it appears both Wikipedia's blocking policy and I are on the same page about this type of word, as does this article.

- Draft:Mopped Internetslang (filter log) (user filter log)
- Description
- I am creating a draft article about an internet slang term. The edit is intended to add encyclopedic information with a neutral tone and a citation to the original YouTube video. This is not promotional content or vandalism; the automated filter appears to have incorrectly blocked a constructive edit.
