Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Bands and musicians
| Points of interest related to Musicians on Wikipedia: Category – WikiProject – Alerts – Deletions – Assessment |
This is a collection of discussions on the deletion and merging of articles related to Bands and musicians. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion and neither does removing an AfD from this page remove it from the main page at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- Edit this page and add
{{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}}to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear. - You should also tag the AfD by adding
{{subst:deletion sorting|Bands and musicians|sig=~~~~}}to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- Edit this page and add
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Bands and musicians. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
- Further information
- For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.

I propose draftifying because doesn't sufficiently prove separate notability from band via WP:NBANDMEMBER. Coverage is basically all about them int he content of the band; only separate activiity is participating in a few TV shows, but previous consensus on wikiproject was that this doesn't count to separate notability. grapesurgeon (talk) 02:40, 3 October 2026 (UTC)

- Comment: If the topic is non-notable, what is the justification for draftification, as opposed to outright deletion? Sycerion (talk) 06:05, 3 October 2026 (UTC)
- Many of these kpop artists become separately notable soon after leaving some band or starting some solo career. Some even start solo careers while still in the band. It happens really often grapesurgeon (talk) 14:32, 3 October 2026 (UTC)
- I know what WP:DRAFTREASON says, but this feels a bit too tenuous to me. I feel that criterion 3 there is more targeted towards things that are obviously going to be notable in the future (like a forthcoming album/song from a notable artist, or a future election), but don't have enough coverage now. There is too much uncertainty here - this guy fading into obscurity as as likely as him becoming notable in the future. Perhaps a selective merge into NCT and WayV is a better WP:ATD in this case. Sycerion (talk) 23:43, 3 October 2026 (UTC)
- I'm ok with all the above tbh, just whichever is more appropriate policy wise grapesurgeon (talk) 02:26, 4 October 2026 (UTC)

I propose merging to The Rolling Stones 1965 tours because that page already has the same info, with a few extra sources. This is an extra page for no apparent reason. There are also individual pages for every Stones tour that year, so I propose merging those too. These include:

- Comment: both prior nominations (in 2023 and 2025) ended in deletion, and almost certainly would appear to be the same subject. I'm on the fence for this one, but it appears to fail WP:GNG. Evaluating the sources on the page, 1 has a passing mention of the band's existence (not WP:SIGCOV, 2 is an interview, 3 is a passing mention, 4 seems not WP:SIGCOV, 5 seems to be a good source to me, 6 doesn't appear to mention the band, 7 doesn't mention the band. With a WP:BEFORE search, I was still unable to find more proper WP:SIGCOV reliable sources. I think this fails WP:NMUSIC and WP:GNG. Bungle491 (talk) 04:03, 2 October 2026 (UTC)

No evidence of satisfying the notability guidelines. None of the references is an independent reliable source, and most of them could not possibly be regarded as substantial coverage either. At present the references in the article are:
- Two copies, in two different publications, of word for word the same report of an interview with Kross, essentially a promotional piece distributed as a press release; an advertisement in all but name.
- A piece published on a website which accepts user-submitted content, full from start to finish of such language as "artistic excellence", "work that reflects artistic innovation, cultural depth, and strong audience engagement", "work transcends borders and connects diverse audiences through creativity, originality, and performance excellence", etc etc; clearly an advertisement.
- Four links to pages that don't even mention Kross. (I searched those websites, in case the relevant material was on other pages on the site, but found nothing.)
- A page on a download site listing his works.
- Yet another unambiguous advertisement, this time on blogspot.
- Another copy of one of the references already mentioned.
- A page on a site for which the "about" page says "Here, anyone can share knowledge and wisdom with the world", and invites readers to "write your story". Also, it's just a few sentences, not substantial coverage.
- A blogging site, on which a search for "Kross" finds nothing.
- A LinkedIn page.
- A PR publishing site (PRLog, which describes itself as "Press Release Distribution").
- A download site. JBW (talk) 18:26, 1 October 2026 (UTC)

I propose redirecting to Akcent (Polish band). In its current state the article is based on one dead source, and one unreliable source (Discogs).
After doing a WP:BEFORE I can see sparse mentions of the subject on various Polish outlets with ranging reliability but nothing that leads me to believe WP:NMUSICIAN is satisfied.

This musician does not seem notable. There was a passing mention in a book about his name being said in an advertisement (no other info provided), and perhaps one article on him. Crotian Wikipedia doesn't show much useful information either. He does have an article in Musika.hr and Express and a Q&A, but I'm not sure that this can reach the level of significant coverage that we need. It isn't a whole lot to work with, and doesn't offer much critical commentary on his work. There is allegedly a review of him done by some guy (according to one of the sources) but it isn't used here nor can I find it.
I also suspect that users connected with the subject have been editing the article over the years, based on some promotional language and the edit history. AaronNealLucas (talk) 04:34, 29 September 2026 (UTC)

Complete failure of WP:GNG, much less WP:NMG. There is almost nothing but streaming services and this article on Google. The page currently functions as an entirely self-promotional effort, which barely cites and when it does, it is either from user "jtrilltv" (hardly independent journalism) or a radio station write up of an interview, which reads like the subject wrote it himself (including typos and all). - Keep, though several sources in article are directories, primary and paid for sources, there are multiple reliable sources to meet WP:NBASIC criteria which says:
“People are presumed notable if they have received significant coverage in multiple published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject. If the depth of coverage in any given source is not substantial, then multiple independent sources may be combined to demonstrate notability; trivial coverage of a subject by secondary sources is not usually sufficient to establish notability”.
Are all sources in article primary and trivial? No, multiple secondary, independent and reliable sources have discussed the subject and their works in-depth in some WP:RS recognised sources including:
1. This by the 34th Street Magazine dedicated to arts reporting with the title “Meet Jet Le Parti, The Self–Taught Artist Who Turned his Apartment into a Studio Artist Spotlight | Jet combines the philosophy of art with the art of philosophy.” The article has a clearly stated byline (writer’s name) and it is published under the publication’s Art Section. 34th Street Magazine is a weekly arts and entertainment magazine by The Daily Pennsylvanian, the student newspaper of the University of Pennsylvania with a clear editorial independence.
2.This by The Village Voice which is on the list of WP RS with the title “Jet Le Parti and the Poetry of the Impossible Middle Ground”. The piece clearly displays the writers name with an in-depth discussion of the subject and his work. The Village Voice is an American news and culture publication based in Greenwich Village, New York City, known for being the country's first alternative newsweekly.
3.This by Blast entertainment with the “Indie Film Breaks The System With ‘Underground’ Launch” provided an a signifcant coverage of the subject and works and the piece is written by the publications staff writter.
4.This by Whitehot Magazine, a publication dedicated to witting about art.
5.This by Billboard Japan, a is a sister organization of the U.S.-based music magazine Billboard

First Google Books hit is a long discussion of what they describe as "the world's first professional percussion ensemble", founded at the sugggestion of Pierre Boulez, whose 1971 tour of Australia was the "catalyst for true contemporary percussion activity in Australia". The ensemble has "contributed much to the global field of contemporary percussion" commissioning "many of the most significant works in the repertory". "Pioneers in their field", "recognised internationally". It goes on about the group for pages after this. They have won a Victoires de la musique classique, their albums get reviews in the leading sources (e.g. when they were "contemporary disc of the week" at Radio France Classique, they play all over the world at the most prestigious institutions and festivals, and have an entry in the Larousse Musical Dictionary. - Eric Van Den Brink (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) - Same problems as Nick Vernier Band. There are also some citations to older books that are probably misleading. I have read the Monkees book that is referenced in this article and Brink is not mentioned in it at all.
- Nick Vernier Band Sessions (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) - I can't find many reliable/independent sources on this album. I cleaned this article up a bit a few months ago. The 1978 "Golden Discs" book is referenced in this (and the Brink page), but makes no sense here because the album was made in 2010.

I can't find any independent sources where Gigliani is the main subject. She appears to have had a relatively minor career. The article also is full of errors. For example the cited source for the Macbeth production lists Maribel Ortega not Gigliani as the lead part of Lady Macbeth in Macbeth. Gigliani is listed as "Lady" which would be the tiny role of the lady-in-waiting to Lady Macbeth who doesn't have any arias or much to do. The Berta role checks out but it is cited to a press release for an upcoming performance, and is not a review. It also is not an impressive part. I couldn't fine anything verifying the competition wins, or her work as a teacher. If it helps locate sources, this is a self-written bio: https://vokalnarapsodija.telok.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/ARIJANA-GIGLIANI-PHILIPP-cv-hr-i-eng-SRPSKI-PREVOD.pdf Opera base shows she hasn't performed in any staged operas since 2015, and records only a career total of 23 opera performances (not 23 productions; 23 performances in a small number of productions) collectively. There are many European singers who give an average of 40 to 50 performances a year; so to have a career total of 23 performances across an entire career says something. Without any critical reviews with in-depth commentary or an artist profile in an independent publication or some sort of secondary or tertiary referencing, I don't think this passes WP:MUSICBIO, WP:GNG, or WP:BASIC.4meter4 (talk) 15:36, 27 September 2026 (UTC)

- KEEP. This page has far greater potential than what it currently size would otherwise suggest. Removing the page altogether would be exceptionally counter-productive because of the room for improvement.
- As of this post, I had not responded to the recent COI-informed post on the article's talk page, but the post shows that Fraser has received no shortage of notable coverage as a musician. Once many of those sources on the talk page - not all of them, however - and their respective information is introduced into the article, then it will certainly be in better shape. Examples of good sources presently on the talk page include Northern Exposure Magazine, RTL Today, and Rolling Stone Germany.

- COI disclosure: I am Thomas Juth, the subject of this article, and RibbleDox is my account.
- I would like to clarify two points in the nomination.
- First, the nomination refers to a 2020 talk-page comment signed “Juth” as evidence that I hired a paid editor. I have looked at that comment and I did not write it. It was posted anonymously from an IP address rather than from an account belonging to me. I do not know who posted it or why they signed it that way, so I do not want to speculate, but I do not think it should be treated as a statement from me.
- Second, the nomination describes my Latin Grammy history as “a shared engineer credit on a Latin Grammy-winning record.” For clarity, the official Latin Recording Academy database lists Thomas Juth individually with three Latin Grammy wins and three nominations, including an engineer/mixer credit on the 2012 Record of the Year winner “¡Corre!”. I understand that awards and professional credits do not by themselves replace the need for significant independent coverage, but I think the distinction is relevant when considering WP:BIO.
- I am also looking for older independent interviews, profiles and other reliable coverage that may not currently be included in the article. Since I am the subject, I will leave the assessment of the sources and the article’s notability to uninvolved editors. Ribbledox (talk) 17:28, 21 September 2026 (UTC)

Musician seemingly notable only for a few years' association with The Cranberries. I found one review for an EP issued under the name White Prism and one review for a full length album issued under that name, but neither is enough coverage for either or both to be notable under WP:NMUSIC, and thus I don't see a pass for Cranitch under WP:NMUSICIAN or, per the source analysis above, a WP:GNG pass. - Weak keep. I checked the RPM collections at the library and archives. The Collins/Pickell Project, with Collins as one of the two performers, charted on RPM's national Adult Contemporary chart with "Since Tomorrow" (#46, 16 March 1998) and "I Wish You Were Here" (#52, 8 February 1999). The inquiry into "Collins Pickell" yields 22 entries in the weekly charts. In terms of fulfillment of WP:MUSICBIO #2, this is indeed positive, but the ranking is low on a 60-position chart and I haven't seen any independent sources for Collins as required by WP:GNG. Other arguments in favor of the nomination (poor article quality, a source blocked in Brazil) are not valid causes for a deletion. - We do not cite IMdB as a source: anyone can edit it. And per Wikipedia policy, notability is not inherited, so mere use of a track in South Park, even if properly sourced, would have no bearing on notability. It the use of the track had been the subject of meaningful discussion in independent sources, it might possibly be relevant, however. AndyTheGrump (talk) 12:38, 23 September 2026 (UTC)

- Hi ReadingBeans. I'm not really good at them and forgot how, but I can look into it if you think it's really necessary. Seems like blogs, interviews, puff pieces, and some AI-generated to me. Regards, TitCrisse (t•c) 12:42, 18 September 2026 (UTC).
- Please, make a source assessment. We could find atleast three sources that could meet GNG (or, least WP:CREATIVE). Most sources are flowery (I guess because he is Wizkid’s son), so, I know that there must be something. BBC said he’s been on the limelight since 2011, so, you understand my point, yes?
- For PROMO, that’s a clean up issue, we all know that deletion is not cleanup. Best, Reading Beans, Duke of Rivia 14:43, 18 September 2026 (UTC)
- Hi ReadingBeans, OK, I will look into making one later today. The BBC PIDGIN article you're referencing has no byline. It's more than just PROMO in my opinion, it appears to be a conceited paid effort to get him a Wiki page, in line with Brown envelope journalism. And the supposed new user who wrote it who has no connection to the subject but can cite Wiki policies and wikicode quite well. All seems fishy to me. Regards, TitCrisse (t•c) 14:52, 18 September 2026 (UTC).
- BBC Pidgin does not engage in brown envelope journalism. Why would you think that? Because it’s written in Pidgin? Most BBC articles I’ve read have no byline; see this example here and I barely read the BBC. Please, make the source assessment. Best, Reading Beans, Duke of Rivia 15:02, 18 September 2026 (UTC)
- Hi ReadingBeans. I said that the BBC Pidgin article has no byline. All the BBC articles that I read do have bylines. The whole context of the article, its sources, its creator and their behaviour, leads me to believe that this is brown envelope journalism. No, I do not need to make a source assessment table. Feel free to make one yourself. Thank you, regards, TitCrisse (t•c) 16:46, 18 September 2026 (UTC).

- Comment The promotional tone of most of the sources makes it hard to assess, but his debut EP was on the Nigerian national top 100 from Nov 7 2025 to Dec 4 2025. I declined the G11 as not so obviously promotional it warranted speedy deletion - not necessarily that it met GNG. -- Reconrabbit (talk) 13:36, 18 September 2026 (UTC)

here: diff 1, so I'm having a hard time understanding you now. Regards, --TitCrisse (t•c) 14:31, 18 September 2026 (UTC). - For the fact he is Wizkid's son, Wizkid will surely be cited in the article. So, if you think they are promotional, y'all can access it well Ragnarok49 (talk) 18:01, 18 September 2026 (UTC)

- Comment: Just because I joined Wikipedia not long ago doesn't mean I won't study it. Even before I created the account, I have been studying it for over months. And I have learnt many things all the way. But as for TitCrisse, he assumed I am paid to edit it I am too professional. But, everyone ain't the same. Trying to delete articles that are notable like Khamari, holding Billboard chart, AllMusic biography. I just feel I should contribute since no one was willing to create the article. So, I had to. But TitCrisse is making things uncomfortable for me on Wikipedia and I don't like it. Ragnarok49 of Thor 9:37, 19 September 2026 (UTC)
- Delete. This is a clear case of WP:TOOSOON. The subject is still an up-and-coming artist who is primarily known for being the son of Wizkid. His music career has not picked up yet, and the two EPs he has released are not notable in my opinion. Champions Arrival is the only EP that was critically reviewed, but the two sources that reviewed it are not notable. Versace1608 Wanna Talk? 13:41, 19 September 2026 (UTC)
- Keep Automatically notable due to charting on the Nigerian national charts under WP:NMUSIC. Jishara (please ping upon response) (talk) 13:54, 19 September 2026 (UTC)
- Weak Keep I think this is on the borderline, but just on the notable side. The problem isn't notability, but de-promo-ing the article, which would be far better off if some of the fluff, in the sourcing were cut out. I'll also note that there's no such thing in WP:NMUSIC as automatically notable. The bullet points of WP:MUSICBIO are indicators that the subject
may be notable if
notare notable if

Keep I would like to bring several additional sources and instances of coverage of FyaVerse to the attention of editors for consideration in this discussion. I am not suggesting that every source independently establishes notability. I recognise that Wikipedia places particular importance on significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. I have therefore distinguished below between sources that may support the notability argument and sources that are primarily supporting or primary documentation.
In summary, I believe the Jamaica Gleaner article is the most significant of these additional sources for the notability question because it provides substantial coverage of FyaVerse's career. The New Times article provides further substantial coverage but is an interview, while the Kenya News article provides another piece of published coverage for editors to assess. The St. Vincent Times article and FyaVerse's TikTok are included only as supporting documentation concerning the award, rather than as independent evidence of notability. I recognise that the number or geographic diversity of sources alone does not establish notability, and that the relevant considerations are the reliability, independence and depth of the coverage. I respectfully ask that the article be kept and that these additional sources be considered alongside the existing references before the AfD discussion is closed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jeradishere (talk • contribs) | |

- Keep - he charted as an independently named artist on the Billboard Argentina chart, which is the national music chart of Argentina - that's sufficient to pass WP:NMUSIC C2. Jishara (please ping upon response) (talk) 14:22, 17 September 2026 (UTC)
- @Jishara, the chart claim comes from a Surinamese report about producer ChevoBeatz's song, naming the vocalist "FireVerse", and the Gleaner calls it a track he recorded for ChevoBeatz. That's a guest vocal on a producer's single, not his own charting under WP:NMUSIC C2. Kqol • talk 21:33, 18 September 2026 (UTC)
- ChevoBeatz is only the producer of the instrumental, in modern dancehall every producer started to credit their name as artist and not just in the label section, FyaVerse is the lead Vocalist of the track and not a guest Vocalist on the producer track Jeradishere (talk) 13:36, 19 September 2026 (UTC)

- Keep. Freak Accident was reviewed at length by Paste and again by Post-Trash, and Them ran a substantial feature on Menne in April 2025 about his first year after coming out and the touring around it. Those are secondary sources written about him, not the announcement items the nomination describes. The article itself is weak, but that is a matter of someone spending 20 minutes on it.Saltshaker96 (talk) 20:41, 7 September 2026 (UTC)
- Them is a interview for the band, not him. Freak Accident is an album. It may be notable but its not him. If you have WP:THREE WP:SECONDARY sources to prove the man is notable. scope_creepTalk 21:01, 7 September 2026 (UTC)
- Dratify. I couldn't find WP:SIGCOV, but Saltshaker96 or other users are free to work on a draft using secondary sources they can find. The Them feature[1] is a interview that doesn't help establish WP:SIGCOV. Lovelano (talk) 21:19, 7 September 2026 (UTC) Lovelano (talk) 21:19, 7 September 2026 (UTC)

- Looks like Paste Magazine is a website that changes the URL address shown in your browser as you infinitely scroll through their articles, the idea being that the current URL bar will take you back to whatever you're currently looking at. This almost never works well, though, and websites should stop doing it; you probably scrolled too far down in the article. Cheers, Suriname0 (talk) 23:03, 30 September 2026 (UTC)

References
- I can't see his name mentioned in the first reference. The second is a routine annoucemnent of a single release, its not in-depth nor significant coverage, the third one looks like an interview typical of the non-coverage already in the article and the fouth is an album review, meaning the album is notable. He's not. It is a WP:BLP and it needs real WP:SECONDARY references to prove he has standalone notabilty independent from the band. Its worth noting for the 14,000,000th time that interviews don't count toward notability. They are WP:SPS sources. scope_creepTalk 06:55, 8 September 2026 (UTC)
