Tagged as OR since 2016; has a single footnote ref that does seem to discuss the topic in a single paragraph, but the reliability and WP:SIGCOV of the source are borderline, my BEFORE doesn't show anything obviously relevant, and the fact that this has no footnotes suggests that even if we conclude the topic is notable, this needs a WP:TNT treatment and recreation from scratch, with sources. _{Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here} 03:33, 1 February 2026 (UTC)

  Identity is a crucial concept in object oriented design and programming. It must be discussed on Wikipedia. However, it is a rather basic notion, and discussions do not always explicitly use this term (e.g. when discussing the difference between object and value types in C#). It should be easy to find good references to articles and textbooks discussing the subject. Rp (talk) 08:46, 2 February 2026 (UTC)

• Redirect to Object (computer science) and information (with citations) about the topic can be included there. This is a real topic, not just a dictionary definition, with plenty of sources in textbooks. The article is not OR - the original was sourced in a manner by its "See also" to "Meyer: Object-oriented software construction, second edition" which has since been removed. In 2005 providing sources happened more casually if at all for material in textbooks. The current single source is self-published nonsense.
