Video telematics is a technology that combines video cameras with telematics data and sensor readings, to provide a real-time view of vehicles. Over the last yeasrs video telematics is one of the hottest trends in fleet management.[1][2] Alongside Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and machine vision, video telematics is considered to be one of the tools to prevent unsafe driver behaviour, like speedings and overall to make drivers work safer. [3][4]

The biggest market for video telematics systems is North America, with almost 4.9 million units as of 2023, Europe has 1.4 million. Leading players of the video telematics market include Lytx, Streamax, Xirgo Technologies (formerly Sensata Insights / SmartWitness), Gurtam, Netradyne.[5]
