Victory Bible Institute (VBI) is a Christian tertiary academy, founded by Billy Joe Daugherty, a Senior Pastor and the president of Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma,[1] in 1979.

History

[edit]

The academy was initiated by Billy Joe Daugherty, the Senior Pastor of Victory Christian Center. Established in September 1979, the starter class graduated 42 students.[2]

In January 2010, the Church reported an average Sunday attendance of 9,612, and was reported to be the second largest church in Tulsa.[3] In the following months, the institutional staff announced to ″have traveled and hosted international conferences we have been able to meet some great contacts that have opened the door for more schools.″[4] Affiliated colleges arose in African and South American countries.

Accreditition

[edit]

The Oklahoma State Governance declared Billy Joe Daugherty as "founder of Victory Christian School, Victory Bible Institute, the Tulsa Dream Center and Victory World Missions Training Center" to an "Example for all Oklahomans".[1]

The Institute additionally holds a Credit Transfer Agreement with Oral Roberts University.[5]
