"Uuwian" is a song recorded for the soundtrack of the Philippine adaptation of What's Wrong with Secretary Kim?. Written by Jonathan Manalo and Trisha Denise and produced by Manalo, it was released on April 5, 2024 as part of the series' official soundtrack.[1] The soundtrack contains two versions of the song: a main version sung by BGYO member JL Toreliza and Uuwian (Reprise), performed by the full group.[1]
Digital music services credit the main recording to Toreliza and BGYO,[2] while the reprise is credited to BGYO alone.[3] Philippine Daily Inquirer later listed "Uuwian" among the group's five singles released in 2024.[4]
"Uuwian" received a nomination for Best Original Soundtrack at the 38th Awit Awards in 2025, with the nomination credited to BGYO.[5]
Background and release
[edit]On April 1, 2024, Star Music announced the official soundtrack for the Philippine adaptation of What's Wrong with Secretary Kim?, starring Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino. The soundtrack was scheduled for release on April 5 and included recordings by BGYO, BINI, Angeline Quinto, Kaori Oinuma, Joey Ynion and Kim Won-shik, among others.[1]
"Uuwian" was released with the soundtrack on April 5, 2024. Billboard Philippines described the main version as being sung solely by Toreliza,[1] while music streaming services credit the recording to Toreliza and BGYO.[2] It appears as the opening track of the soundtrack and has a duration of four minutes and 20 seconds.[6]
A second recording, titled "Uuwian (Reprise)", appears as the tenth and final track of the soundtrack and is performed by BGYO as a group.[6]
In January 2025, the Philippine Daily Inquirer included "Uuwian" among five singles released by BGYO during 2024, alongside "Patintero", "Gigil", "Trash" and "Andito Lang".[4]

Performance videos
[edit]Star Music released separate performance videos for both versions of "Uuwian" on June 15, 2024. The main version's video features Toreliza,[7] while the reprise performance video features the full group.[8]
The reprise performance video was directed and conceptualized by Riel Mandapat, with line production by January Skies Creations.[8]
