Troodos Observatory is an astronomical observatory located in Cyprus. It organizes night-time stargazing events and is home to the largest telescope in Cyprus.[citation needed] Troodos Observatory is located in Agridia, near the villages of Agros, Chandria & Kyperounta. Situated at an altitude of 1,250 meters.[1]

Historical background

Work on the observatory and the landscaping of the surrounding area began in 2017, with a budget of €1,600,000 (1.6 million).[2] It's creation was part of the Geostars program, which aims to boost isolated rural areas in Cyprus and Crete.[3]
