I'm confused. This template says user is from Florida but the category is Wikipedians in Florida.

There's another template, {{User FL res}}, which says the user is in Florida. Why is the from template going to the in category but the in template goes to no category? And what should I do since I'm in Florida but from New York? Wknight94 (talk) 01:51, 13 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

I dunno... All the location userboxes say This user is from wherever. Maybe one way to think of it is like Wikipedia is a location, and the question is, from where do you come to Wikipedia? Well, I come from Florida. I think FL res can clearly add users to the category (and be listed as an alternative userbox on the category page) -- and should also be renamed something more logical like "User Florida resident". I don't think this template should be changed unless we think all location templates should be changed to say "This user lives in wherever" rather than "is from". It seems OK to have both templates, and let people choose which they like. --Tetraminoe 06:56, 15 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
