Change to a CS1 / cite book template?

Is there any reason not to do this, aside from the template probably being slightly more expensive (but possibly easier on whatever ref tags do internally)? Page and pages can just be set to the corresponding input parameters (or nothing) and everything else hardcoded so the conditional count doesn't go up much, and it'll create some implicit checking for page citation errors or page + pages used at the same time that shouldn't break anything but will point out potential ref errors to other editors so they can be fixed.
