Please add {{subst:tfm|Ahnentafel}}, per a nomination by Chicbyaccident {{3x|p}}ery (talk) 22:39, 16 April 2018 (UTC)
- @{{3x|p}}ery:
Done. In the future, rememeber to use {{tlsx}} if you are including parameter other than the name of the template to subst. --Ahecht (TALK
PAGE) 23:08, 16 April 2018 (UTC)- Perpetual mistake I make with these. {{3x|p}}ery (talk) 23:27, 16 April 2018 (UTC)
Table style
[edit]This edit request has been answered. Set the |answered= parameter to no to reactivate your request. |
Please remove the table style so that it is not forced to be wide, but adapts to the contents — GhostInTheMachine talk to me 18:41, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
- Removed
width:90%on Template:Pedigree/sandbox. Please confirm this is your request? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 22:50, 8 July 2024 (UTC) - It was and it now looks so much better. Thanks.
- I believe that we should also lose the
margin: autostyle, to remove the centre align (per MOS:TABLELEFT), but I suspect that the horse article editors will not like it — GhostInTheMachine talk to me 16:36, 11 July 2024 (UTC).- I wouldn't mind removing the center align, but to be honest the pedigree template looks too small at the moment, and I feel like all those spaces are wasted... I think it would be better to make the size of the template larger. Much like this template's Japanese equivalent --Jnglmpera (talk) 15:06, 25 July 2024 (UTC)
Is style="clear:both;" necessary on this template?
[edit]Its presence is causing a huge amount of whitespace to be included on the Wikipedia page for Pegasus. Can it be removed safely? Rob Kelk 21:00, 6 October 2024 (UTC)
Left align
[edit]This edit request has been answered. Set the |answered= parameter to no to reactivate your request. |
Per MOS:TABLELEFT, please remove the formatting from the table intro: style="clear:both; margin:0em auto;" to make a standard table — GhostInTheMachine talk to me 10:14, 20 November 2025 (UTC)
- See discussions above. This template is used in over 4,000 articles, so any change to its long-standing center-alignment should have at least a bit of discussion. I have posted a note at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Horse racing. To be clear, it sounds like you are proposing to left-align the table and also allow text to wrap around it. Making a change in the sandbox and demonstrating some text flowing around the template on the testcases page might be useful. – Jonesey95 (talk) 23:07, 20 November 2025 (UTC)
- I don't think that wrapping the text around the table would be much improvement. The table should just be a plain wiki table with no extra styling so that it aligns to the left instead of in the centre. I know this will not address Rob Kelk's post, but it does comply with our own MOS. I have edited the sandbox — GhostInTheMachine talk to me 08:08, 21 November 2025 (UTC)

- No objections or comments after a couple of weeks. Can we go ahead? — GhostInTheMachine talk to me 10:40, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
Done. Now that it's changed, expect the commenters to come out of the woodwork. If one or more of those commenters could provide some documentation for this template, which has not had any documentation in its 19 years of existence, that would be helpful. – Jonesey95 (talk) 21:58, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks. I have checked a handful of articles that use the template and all seem fine — GhostInTheMachine talk to me 22:18, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
- I did the same. There may be edge cases out there. I'll keep an eye on this talk page to see if anyone shows up with links to problem pages. – Jonesey95 (talk) 22:28, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
