Mention of PlantUML
[edit]PlantUML recently added "Activity Diagram" functionality. I believe this would justify putting it under "FOSS" on the template (and it would likely also qualify as "Java-based").
Proposed changes: new title and new subsections
[edit]I propose that the displayed title of this template be changed from "Concept mapping and mind mapping software" to "Argument mapping, Concept mapping, and mind mapping software" since some of the listed software can also be used for argument mapping. See, e.g.: Davies, W. Martin (November 2010). "Concept mapping, mind mapping and argument mapping: what are the differences and do they matter?" (PDF). I also propose that the Proprietary section be divided into two subsections, Desktop apps and Web apps, to differentiate between software that is installed on a device and software that is accessed via a web browser. Biogeographist (talk) 15:41, 9 January 2018 (UTC)

PGF/TikZ
[edit]Naadobea1776 recently removed PGF/TikZ from this template with the argument that it's "not a software specific to this template topic". But PGF/TikZ is no less relevant to this template than LibreOffice Draw. Both are general-purpose graphics software that can be used to create mindmaps, etc. TikZ even has a library specifically for mindmaps that can be used to create mindmaps easily. See, for example, "Mindmaps examples" at TeXamples.net and "Putting thoughts in a mind map" at LaTeX-Cookbook.net. Due to the presence of a standard library for drawing mindmaps, TikZ has to be considered one of the major FOSS software packages for drawing mindmaps; hence I am restoring it to this template. - Thanks for this context, Biogeographist. Perhaps someone can add to the PGF/TikZ and LibreOffice Draw mentions of MindMaps, because they have this template included on their pages? Misinformation
[edit]This template puts diagrams.net in FOSS section, which is wrong. https://github.com/jgraph/drawio-desktop states: "Neither Open-source, nor open-contribution. draw.io is not open source software. The complete source code required to build the app from scratch is not available. draw.io is also closed to contributions". Did not expected to be fooled by Wikipedia. Please make corrections.
