I came to this template for unrelated reasons. I am perplexed by Template:ME-ref/TH § Table of editions. What does it really mean? If the formulae are meant to be used as a mathematical mechanism to map page X of a particular edition to page Y in another edition, how is that supposed to work? An unchanging signal conveys no new information so why are all of the formulae identical and why are all of the examples identical? Do we really need the formulae and examples?

Editor Bryan Derksen, you created the table, care to explain?
