Revision
[edit]I've added three parameters: editions, power (for power source) and role. -- Gordon Ecker (talk) 23:17, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
- I've added additional parameters to more cleanly separate editions as a standard / core class from editions as an alternate class, and to more cleanly present information on classes with both primary and secondary roles. There's probably a cleaner way to do it with ParserFunctions, however I'm not familiar with them or with Template:Infobox. -- Gordon Ecker (talk) 07:20, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks Thumperward. I've reduced the size of the as a standard class and as an alternate class labels. -- Gordon Ecker (talk) 02:52, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Roles and power sources
[edit]Being that these only ever really applied to one edition that was only really supported for a period of 4 years out of the 41 year history of D&D, and that that's not the most recent edition, isn't the inclusion of these as the first things in the infobox after the class name a little bit WP:UNDUE? All things considered the info is unneeded, and a bit too much game mechanics for the infobox. I'm going to comment them out for now. oknazevad (talk) 05:21, 6 May 2015 (UTC)
- Totally agreed. 50.141.204.194 (talk) 11:21, 6 May 2015 (UTC)
Requested move 20 August 2026
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: moved. Going to go out on a limb and say none of the support was on the basis of moving the template into mainspace, but for the sake of procedure it should be noted that the discussion can be reopened if a participant objects to this close. Template:Infobox D&D character class → Template:Infobox character class – I've done a few small modifications to the template for some standardizing and flexibility, but I feel it should be moved to the suggested title above. My reasoning is that there are character classes in games besides D&D that have likely gained some notability (as seen by Haleth in his Death Knight (Warcraft) article, but the only structure we have for character clases currently is this one. Kung Fu Man (talk) 04:57, 20 August 2026 (UTC)
- Support per nom. Reasonable proposition. There's also the generic tank (video games) and healer (video games), although there is an overlap between class and archetype. Haleth (talk) 05:23, 20 August 2026 (UTC)
- Comment: I updated the proposed new title from Infobox character class to Template:Infobox character class, given I'm assuming that is what the nominator meant. Steel1943 (talk) 17:48, 22 August 2026 (UTC)
