Conformance with WP:DATE

[edit]

It would be nice if this template conformed with the guidelines for dates in WP:DATE. Specifically, the date should be wikilinked so that a user's set preferences will cause the date to be shown in their preferred format, not always American-style Month dd, year. Truthanado (talk) 23:46, 21 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

I agree. All the world except North America used day/month/year. It's only in two countries that the dates go backwards. In an international encyclopædia, we should at the very least have the dates Wiki-linked - or, if impossible, then use the general world format. EuroSong talk 20:37, 18 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Edit request from 117Avenue, 11 October 2011

[edit]

Could this support dmy, by adding the following line?

 |dmy = j F Y

Thanks, 117Avenue (talk) 04:07, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

I also see the lines "medium" and "F j, Y", which aren't doing anything, I think they are supposed to be on the same line, separated by a =. 117Avenue (talk) 04:13, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Added dmy. And I think f F Y is supposed to be the default behaviour - I have adjusted the code to make this clearer.  Martin (MSGJ · talk) 14:25, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
