Documentation?

[edit]

There is no explanation of when to use the template and there appears to be a fuddle of code. What do editors use? {{fix}}, {{editorializing}}, or the safesubst stuff? Or all of it? Any shortcuts? Thanks — Iadmctalk  02:56, 14 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Iadmc: Just follow the documentation. In short, use {{Editorializing|date=July 2026}} or {{Editorializing|{{subst:DATE}}}}. If you are not trying to change the template itself, you have no reason to look inside the template code. That's not where instructions are found. :-) As for when to use the template, use it when a statement in the article appears to be MOS:EDITORIALIZING. If the entire article reads like an op-ed or personal essay, then use the banner template {{Essay-like}}.  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  01:06, 7 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
