Replace the flag for the green variant with File:Green harp flag of Ireland.svg. The current flag isn't used on any other Wikipedia apart from in template form, its use on the 1930 British Empire Games page has been discussed and the consensus is that this requested file should be used in its place. Done, but VEO15 please note, I was about to decline this as the outcome of a private discussion rather than community consensus until I stumbled across a mention of the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Ireland#A flag question. Remove:
flag alias-1937 = Flag of Ireland (WFB 2000).png
flag alias-2004 = Flag of Ireland (WFB 2004).gif

These lines will remove flags are just based on the shades used in pictures in different editions of the CIA World Factbook (you can see if you open the flag image) and not are official or even real changes to the flag used by Ireland, they should not be included and especially not linked to a specific year It will not produce errors from missing flags by pages that use this, as none do

Remove Republic of Ireland links?
[edit]This template is used for "All of Ireland" organisations (mainly sports teams?) rather than those relating to the current Republic / Northern constituent parts, so should the links to the Republic be removed to prevent confusion? Spike 'em (talk) 10:13, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
Doesn't sound like this template is the issue, the all island articles referencing it should be corrected instead. Cashew.wheel (talk) 11:02, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
- I may have been premature on my assessment of the relative usage of the 2 templates, but I think some tidying up is needed, as some of the uses here refer to the country and some to the island as a whole Spike 'em (talk) 11:29, 13 November 2022 (UTC)

Cricket flag should be moved to a new file

The Cricket flag for the Ireland cricket team should be moved from "Cricket Ireland flag.svg" to "Flag of Cricket Ireland.svg"
We can see from International Cricket Council website to ICC events that the "Flag of Cricket Ireland.svg" design of the flag is used.
Some passionate editor uploaded the "Cricket Ireland flag.svg" file in 2010 when Ireland had Associate Membership and that must be praised. But, the actual design of the flag is now evident from ICC official documents and even match reports and pre-match, post-match ceremonies etc. It's high time to move the Cricket flag design from "Cricket Ireland flag.svg" to "Flag of Cricket Ireland.svg" AriEmanuelTKO (talk) 15:29, 17 February 2026 (UTC)
