Use in quotations

[edit]

I removed this from the documentation:

  • {{bracket|wikitext}}[wikitext]

Helps to make clear, especially within quotations, that this is not a broken link, but rather use of single brackets to indicate that a word or words have been changed from the original quotation for clarity.

The risk of someone confusing a rephrased quotation with a broken link is, I think, minimal; and this could encourage inappropriate use of this template when simple brackets would do. Hex (❝?!❞) 17:28, 4 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
