Bug... or feature?

I know creator User:Wnt might have left the project, but still:

I don't see the way »{{aside|Your text here}}« generating »<aside>Your text here</aside>« as a bug, but a feature.

The correct implementation would apparently be for it to be rendered as completely indistinguishable from regular text, that is for »{{aside|Your text here}}« to be rendered exactly the same way as »Your text here« unless you personalize the way your CSS is rendered. Since this makes the template pointless for all practical purposes, I find the current "buggy" implementation far preferable.
