Usage

The {{WikiProject Asia |importance= }} project banner template should be added (not subst:ed), to the talk page of every article within the scope of the project. While the template does not require any additional parameters, it has a number of optional ones that add various extra features to the banner, described below. Several national and regional projects already have their own banners, and should be used where possible, although this banner may be used for assessment purposes if the others do not have assessment parameters.

An article's importance assessment is generated from the importance parameter in the {{WikiProject Asia}} project banner on its talk page:

The following values may be used for the importance parameter to describe the relative importance of the article within the project (see Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Priority of topic for assessment criteria):

Top (adds articles to Category:Top-importance Asia articles)  Top 
High (adds articles to Category:High-importance Asia articles)  High 
Mid (adds articles to Category:Mid-importance Asia articles)  Mid 
Low (adds articles to Category:Low-importance Asia articles)  Low 
NA (adds pages to Category:NA-importance Asia pages)  NA 
??? (articles for which a valid importance rating has not yet been provided are listed in Category:Unknown-importance Asia articles)  ??? 
  • attention – "yes", if the article requires immediate attention; this should be used sparingly.
  • auto – "yes", this parameter is for bot-use.
  • needs-infobox – "yes", if the article lacks an infobox, otherwise remove this line.
