There are many different versions of Wikipedia for many different languages, and the English version has 7,214,394 articles which are written by volunteers like you and me! We even have a newspaper, The Signpost, to keep you up to date with news and new developments. Making your first steps on Wikipedia can be hard sometimes, so if you need any help, don't hesitate to leave a message on my LINK TO YOUR TALK PAGE or ask a question on your talk page . Someone will help you soon!
Wikipedia has five pillars which summarise Wikipedia's fundamental principles:
- Wikipedia is an encyclopedia
- Wikipedia is written from a neutral point of view
- Wikipedia is free content that anyone can use, edit, and distribute
- Editors should treat each other with respect and civility
- Wikipedia has no firm rules

Usage
[edit]- Use on user talk pages of users who have not been welcomed yet.
- To use, place
{{subst:Welcome user column}}~~~~on the user page.
- Roughly translated/based on the French welcome template, Modèle:Bienvenue nouveau with some code copied from the Welcome to Wikipedia template.
- Column on the right is transcluded from Welcome column.
