Hello, User, I'm Example user. Please note that pages undergoing development outside mainspace are not allowed to be categorized alongside finished articles in mainspace, per WP:USERNOCAT. The page must stay out of any categories so long as it is outside mainspace, and this is not an optional rule that you're free to disregard or ignore.
You can provisionally list categories in your draft without affecting content categories by using one of the methods described here.
As the page has had to be pulled out of categories recently,do not readd it to categories again, because draft and sandbox pages are not allowed to be in content categories. Note as well that there can be consequences for disruption if it doesn't stop, such as page protection or deletion and/or the temporary or permanent suspension of your editing privileges.
This template is rated as beta. It is considered ready for widespread use, but as it is still relatively new, it should be applied with some caution to ensure results are as expected.
May be placed on the user talk page of users who include content categories in their sandbox, user subpage, draft space, or any other non-mainspace page.
1 – Level 1 is gentler – adds a "please" and a "thanks"; drops the part of the last paragraph about disruption and blocking; (see §ex-4a)
2 – Level 2 is the default; see the canonical example at the top of this page for the default message wording (see §ex-4b)
3 – Level 3 – like level 2, but adds "you have been warned about this before" (bolded) right after " (see §ex-4c) this is not an optional rule that you're free to disregard or ignore"
|n= – replaces the word recently with the number of times, for n > 1; (alias: |number=) (see §ex-5b) Example values:
1: "the page has had to be pulled out of categories recently ..."
2: "the page has had to be pulled out of categories twice ..."
3: "the page has had to be pulled out of categories three times ..."
(default): "the page has had to be pulled out of categories recently ..."
|period= – appends "in <period>" after the number of times (requires param n; alias: |p=) Example values:
|n=3|period=the past week ⟶ "...pulled out of categories three times in the past week" (see §ex-5a)
(default) ⟶ "less than 24hours" but: parameter period is ignored unless n is specified)
Note: normally, the template will not list or link a page that does not exist, so if you set positional param 1 pointing to some non-existent page, it will not be displayed at all. An exception is if you specify param |space=sandbox: the user sandbox will be listed and linked regardless whether it exists, and will generate a red link if it doesn't. The logic behind this is that you are telling the template you want the sandbox link there regardless, so it does what you tell it. If you want the user sandbox linked conditionally only if it exists, use param 1 instead and point it to their sandbox.
