To exclude the green box image add no as an unnamed parameter, e.g. {{subst:Thanks|no}} or {{subst:thanks|no|page=Main Page|diff=139992}}. Note there is no happy face to the right of this paragraph.
This version recognizes named parameters (i.e. |page= and |diff=) but ignores unnamed parameters. In other words, you cannot specify "no" to exclude the green box image when you use {{subst:Thanks-autosign}}.
↑Before the introduction of Temporary accounts in 2025, unregistered editors used so-called "IP editing". Since IP editors could not be thanked using Notifications/Thanks this template was created. Now edits by temporary accounts can be Thanked, but this template is still offered as an alternative.
