Template:Short-isc/doc

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Creates a short-cite (similar to those created with {{Harv}} templates) suitable for in-line attribution of event-specific data from data products (databases) of the International Seismological Centre (ISC). Links to an appropriate full citation for the ISC created with {{cite isc}} template. Also links an ISC event id (code) to the page for that event at both ISC and the IRIS mirror site. (With "EB", links to the Event Bibliography page for that event.)

Usage

[edit]
  • {{Short-isc |<product code*> |<event id*> |access-date=<date>}}

A product code is required. Codes for selected ISC data products are:

OB - Bulletin of the ISC
EB - Event Bibliography
EHB - ISC-EHB Bulletin
GEM - ISC-GEM Global Instrumental Earthquake Catalogue
generic - For citing incidental ISC material not covered by the options above. Does not require an event id.

The data product code must match the one used with {{Cite isc}} to create the full citation.

An ISC event id is required when referencing data (magnitudes, etc.) of a specific event. Event ids can be found here, or see the documentation at {{EQ-isc-link}}.

The optional |access-date= parameter will cause the date of access to be displayed.
