Template:Service award progress/doc

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A template to show progress towards a service award, in both edits and days. The values in the second progress bar will sometimes be fractional because of the varying number of days that go in a month.

Note: This template does not automatically access a user's edit count; the template needs to be updated manually for this information! There is no automated magic word or other function to automatically retrieve a user's edit count (such as mw:API:Usercontribs or mw:Extension:Editcount) activated on Wikipedia.

Usage

[edit]
{{Service award progress|year=year|month=month|day=day|edits=edits}}

The first four parameters (|year=, |month=, |day=, and |edits=) are all required and should be set in the same manner as those in {{Service awards}}. So:

  • |year= 4-digit year of account creation (e.g. "2001")
  • |month= Numerical month of account creation (e.g. "9" for September or "11" for November)
  • |day= Numerical day of account creation (e.g. "8" or "21")
  • |edits= Number of user edits

Optional parameters

[edit]
  • |genderoverride= If you don't want the system to use the gender set in your preferences, set this parameter (for example: |genderoverride=he, |genderoverride=he or she, |genderoverride=they/them, |genderoverride=xe or any other preferred gender pronoun).
  • |style= Style to be appended to the box's style (defaults to border:1px solid #A3B1BF; padding:.5em 1em 1em 1em; background-color:#f7fff8; color:#000)
  • |styleoverride= Style which completely replaces the default box style.
  • |displayall= When given any non-empty value, forces the display of both the "time" progress bar and the "edits" progress bar.
  • |edit_count_url= custom URL fragment for the edit counter. The default URL fragment used is https://xtools.wmflabs.org/ec/en.wikipedia.org/. If you want the "quick and simple edit counter", use https://xtools.wmflabs.org/sc/en.wikipedia.org/. The value for this parameter will have your username appended to it.
