Template:Rfd2/doc

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Usage

[edit]

This template must be substituted (i.e. subst: must be used), otherwise an error will appear. When posted correctly, an external link labeled "stats" will be the last item in parentheses, as in the examples below in the examples sections.

Single nomination listing

[edit]

{{subst:rfd2|redirect=RedirectName|target=TargetArticle|text=The action you would like to occur (deletion, re-targeting, etc.) and the rationale for that action.}} ~~~~

Multiple nomination listing

[edit]

{{subst:rfd2|redirect=RedirectName1|target=TargetArticle1}}

{{subst:rfd2|multi=yes|redirect=RedirectName2|target=TargetArticle2}}

{{subst:rfd2|multi=yes|redirect=RedirectNameN|target=TargetArticleN|text=The action you would like to occur (deletion, re-targeting, etc.) and the rationale for that action.}} ~~~~

The code above will output a list of three redirects. For two redirects, omit the second line; for more than three redirects, repeat the second line as many times as is necessary.

When combining multiple redirects in this manner, the redirect put in the {{rfd2}} template without |multi=yes will be the name used for the section header. Therefore, it is advisable to put the most generally named redirect in the first line. If this is not possible, you may use |header= in the first listing, to set the heading text as desired.

Custom header

[edit]

To add a custom header before the first nomination, |header= can be added to the template to customize the header. Note: if the |multi= parameter is used, then there will not be a header, even if the |header= parameter is used.
