Template:R from emoji/doc

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Template:R from emoji is used to categorize emoji redirects and populates Category:Redirects from emoji when used. It is also added to Category:Printworthy redirects by default. In 2003, efforts were begun to support the Wikimedia Foundation's goal of increasing access and availability of Wikipedia articles in printed versions. Redirects from emojis are suitable for a printed version. In other words they are printworthy.

Usage

[edit]

This template can be used in combination with Redirect category shell or without. This is in accord with instructions found at Wikipedia:REDCAT.

When using Template:Redirect category shell

[edit]

Redirect category shell may be used to add as many appropriate redirect categories as needed to a redirect. Add this redirect category to a redirect in the following manner:

#REDIRECT (target page name)

When used individually

[edit]
#REDIRECT (target page name)

R from emoji

Optional parameters

[edit]

Emoji name

[edit]

The name of the emoji should be added using the |1= parameter. This helps identify the emoji and also sort it by its name.

The |name= comes from the CLDR and can be found in places such as: https://www.unicode.org/cldr/charts/44/annotations/americas.html

Flags

[edit]

If the emoji is a flag, |flag= should be set.

Examples

[edit]
#REDIRECT (target page name)

#REDIRECT (target page name)
