Template:Nee/doc

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This template is for use as a shortcut to indicate female former names (such as a birth, or maiden, name no longer used) appearing in articles. It inserts the word "née" linked to Birth name § Maiden and married names. It additionally takes a single optional parameter, the birth name, which will be preceded by a non-breaking space. {{ne}} may be used for males.

This may be used for any change of name, whether due to marriage or not, and may be followed by the full birth name, or by the birth surname only, when only the surname has changed.

There is a properly spelled redirect to this template at {{née}}, but this template without the "é" character may be easier to type (depending on the keyboard layout used).

Example: {{nee|Name}}née Name
