 | This is a customized wrapper for the {{XfD relist}} template, which means it is built upon the other template's code. Parameters from {{XfD relist}} will only work here if they have been added to this template. |
 | This template should always be substituted – use {{subst:Merge TfD note}}. Any accidental transclusions will be automatically substituted by a bot. |
Usage
[edit]{{subst:Merge TfD note|target page}}
{{subst:Merge TfD note|target page|comment=Here is why I tagged them ...}}
{{subst:Merge TfD note|target page|2nd target|3rd target|...}}
{{subst:Merge TfD note|date=date|target page}}
Always substitute this template. Place it in the deletion discussion itself, not on the merge target's talk page — a separate template handles that notification.
This template places a notice in an XfD deletion discussion that a merger to one or more other pages has been proposed and that the talk page(s) of the merge target(s) have been notified. It alerts other participants that editors watching those pages may want to weigh in, and that the discussion may need to be kept open or relisted to incorporate their input.
It is a wrapper around {{XfD relist}}, inheriting its orange highlighted notice box and "Please add new comments below this notice" footer.
Parameters
[edit]|1=(also|title=as an alias)- The first or only merge target page. Required; the notice will display a broken link if omitted.
|2=,|3=...|20=- Additional merge target pages, for proposals involving multiple targets.
|date=- The date on which the merger notification was posted to the target's talk page. Not used by the CfD wrapper. Defaults to the current date if omitted, which means the date will change on every page render — always specify it explicitly, e.g.
|date=September 28.
Examples
[edit]- Single target:
{{subst:Merge TfD note|Astronomy}} - Multiple targets with a date:
{{subst:Merge TfD note|date=September 28|Astronomy|Astrophysics}} - Using the named alias:
{{subst:Merge TfD note|title=Astronomy}}
