Template:M+J/doc

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Description

[edit]

This template (M+J) simply combines {{MPC}} (Minor Planet Center) and {{JPL}} (JPL Small-Body Database) into a single template, used 1000 times in each of the 500+ pages in the partial list of minor planets, see LoMP. The only, unnamed, required parameter is the object's minor-planet designation or provisional designation. The template can also be used for a large number of cometary bodies. The two external links are separated by a bold middot, {{·}}.

Usage

[edit]
  • {{M+J|75482}} produces MPC · JPL, two links to MPC's and JPL's corresponding page for (75482) 1999 XC173, respectively
  • {{M+J|2010+JL88}} produces MPC · JPL, two links to MPC's and JPL's corresponding page for 2010 JL88, respectively
  • {{M+J|C/1847+T1}} produces MPC · JPL, two links to MPC's and JPL's corresponding page for comet C/1847 T1, respectively
