Template:HouseVacantTally
2[1]
This is the number of seats in the United States House of Representatives that are currently vacant. Typically, this is updated programmatically using the latest numbers from official sources – the House of Representatives Press Gallery and/or the Clerk of the House – only.
As this template, like the official sources it typically relies on, is meant to reflect the current state of the House, it counts seats that are currently vacant. It does not count seats with members set to resign in the future, etc.
Usage
[edit]Simply add this template, without arguments, to where you need to have an updated tally of the vacancies in the United States House of Representatives. It can be used in article text, as seen below.
| Verbatim text | There are HouseVacantTally vacancies in the United States House of Representatives. |
| Rendered text | There are 2 vacancies in the United States House of Representatives. |
However, it is really meant for tables and infoboxes and the like, as seen below.
Infobox example
[edit]United States House of Representatives | |
|---|---|
| Structure | |
| Seats | 435 voting members 218 for a majority |
Political groups | Majority (219)
Minority (214)
Vacant (2)
|
The below code renders renders as the infobox seen here.
