Usage

This template allows you to choose the display order of items within a maintenance category (encyclopedic categories should not need this).

- provided the technical foundation used by this template;
- noted a first limitation: a technical reset of categories took place on June 16-17, 2025 (for the English Wikipedia), meaning any item added to a category before June 16-17, 2025, might be displayed as having been added on that dates;
- noted a second limitation: if a page's sort key is modified "today", MediaWiki shows (for each of its categories) "today" as the date of the addition to the category.
The first parameter can be set to chronological or antichronological to set the default value.
