Template:Born in/doc

{{Born in}} generates an abbreviation "b." for "born"; it has a tooltip explaining its meaning. It can be shortened to {{b.}}.

This template has no function to add a "c." (for "circa"), so the template {{circa}} (short {{c.}}) can instead be embedded.

Usage

{{Born in|Year}} or {{Born in|{{circa|Year}}}}

Parameters

• |1=: A required unnamed parameter representing a year (or range of years).
  • A non-breaking space is put between the "b." and the number, preventing a line break here.
• |lk=no: disables the tooltip. (Alternatively |lk=off.)
  • This doesn't affect the circa, which has to have its own |lk=no
• |i=: Italicises the template and its contents.

Examples

• {{Born in|1234}} → b. 1234
• {{Born in|{{circa|1234}}}} → b. c. 1234

No tooltip

• {{Born in|1234|lk=no}} → b. 1234
• {{Born in|{{circa|1234|lk=no}}|lk=no}} → b. c. 1234

Italicised

• {{Born in|1234|i=y}} → b. 1234
• {{Born in|{{circa|1234}}|i=y}} → b. c. 1234
