Usage

The shelfmark for any item in the British Library can be found by searching the integrated catalogue available at http://catalogue.bl.uk.

Parameters

An alternative parameter of sys can be used to find the record by System number (also known as Document number or SYS) with the advantage that sys will always be a sequence of digits rather than Shelfmark which may contain wiki-unfriendly characters such as "*" and "[". The shelfmark facility does not work. The template now works from the system number only, either with or without the sys parameter.

If no parameters are given then the template default is a generic link to the catalogue.
