Template:Australian pound/doc

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

For emitting the former Australian currency of pounds, shillings and pence.

Usage

[edit]

{{Australian pound|4}} (4 pounds) yields

£4

{{Australian pound|4|5}} (4 pounds 5 shillings) yields

£4/5/0

{{Australian pound|4|5|6}} (4 pounds 5 shillings 6 pence) yields

£4/5/6

{{Australian pound|4||6}} (4 pounds 6 pence) yields

£4/0/6

It can also be invoked using the short form of {{A£}}, e.g.

{{A£|4|5|6}} (4 pounds 5 shillings 6 pence) yields

£4/5/6

Note that the template does not check to see if the values are sensible or indeed even if they are numeric, e.g.

{{A£|-4|55|YZYYZ}} (something nonsensical) yields

£-4/55/YZYYZ

However, this lack of checking is useful if you genuinely want/need to produce non-numeric values, e.g.

{{A£|4|-|6½}} (4 pounds 6 pence 1 halfpenny) yields

£4/-/6½
