Babatunde Adewale (born 19 December 1974), professionally known as Tee A, is a Nigerian comedian, master of ceremonies, television host and content producer. He is regarded as one of the pioneers of contemporary stand-up comedy in Nigeria and has hosted numerous entertainment and corporate events within and outside the country.[1][2]

Early life and education

[edit]

Adewale was born in Lagos, Nigeria. He attended St. Paul's Anglican Primary School, Idi Oro, before proceeding to Birch Freeman High School, Surulere. He later studied at the University of Lagos and also received professional comedy training at the American Comedy Institute in New York City.[3]

Career

[edit]

Tee A began performing stand-up comedy in 1995 while an undergraduate at the University of Lagos. In 1996, he met veteran comedian Alibaba Akpobome, whom he has credited as his mentor and a major influence on his decision to pursue comedy professionally.[4]

Over the years, Tee A has built a career as a stand-up comedian, television presenter and master of ceremonies, hosting entertainment shows, corporate events and live productions across Nigeria. In 2016, he celebrated twenty years in the comedy industry with a commemorative event in Lagos.[5][6]
