Zoomer Generation name confusion

I would like to address the lack of mention of the possible confusion many people may experience when considering the term Zoomer in relation to Generational Timelines. As of this writing, in 2026, Zoomer Media's target audience (45-65 year old's) would fall within being born around 1961 (Baby Boomer 1946-1964) and 1981 (Millennial 1981-1996), but the more-or-less official "Zoomer" generation (1997-2012) are still 14 to 29 years old this year. Absolutely not ZoomerMedia's target demographic.

Eventually (in around around 31 years), actual Zoomer's will align with ZommerMedia's target demographic, but until then, I feel that the ZoomerMedia page should at least have a mention of the difference between the marketing angle ("Boomer's with Zip") and the Generational Timeline's understanding of what a Zoomer is. Eventually the Boomer's will pass on the torch for the company to more GenX and GenY/Millennials, and the slogan will likely need to be retired and upgraded.

This is my first post on Wikipedia, so I'm writing here before delving in to the official act of editing the page myself. I'd like to find the time to learn how to do a proper edit before proceeding with one. AndrisBD (talk) 16:06, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
