Pronunciation

[edit]

I've looked in the Macquarie Dictionary and couldn't find this town's entry. So my question is to a local, how is its name pronounced: /jʉːlebə/ (Yoo-le-buh), /jʉːliːbə/ (Yoo-lee-buh), or /jʉːləbə/ (Yoo-luh-buh)? – Marco79 12:40, 14 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Not a local but know the area. Yoo-luh-buh (with the stress on the Yoo) is the common pronunciation AFAIK. It certainly isn't Yoo-lee-bah as I was mildly teased when pronouncing that way when discussing it with a person from a nearby town. OR I know, but there we have it. -- Mattinbgn\talk 12:45, 14 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Ahh ok, when I first looked at it, I thought it might have been Yool-buh — an option I forgot to mention, doh. Thanks – Marco79 12:48, 14 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
