Reads like advertisment

[edit]

this reads too much like an advertisement--Irish rover 10:53, 24 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, but its enthusiasm is fun (I realize that's not the purpose of encyclopedia entries, however, and I guess at some point this one will be rewritten in encyclopedia format). I heard the band on Radio Paradise just tonight for the first time and enjoyed the song very much, and just for fun, I have made a few trivial improvements to the article that do not change or add any facts.Songflower 01:51, 26 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
still, this needs some serious work. opinions are not what is needed on wikipedia.Irish rover 04:59, 17 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
I fixed it up a little, still needs some work. Maybe we can make pages about their albums?Irish rover 00:17, 26 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Wouldn't it be a better idea to just start over, using the current text as a guideline? I think it's quite difficult to restructure this block of text. Maybe have an intro and then sections on the history of the band, the band members, a discography and at least a link to their official website? I don't know a lot about the band, but I would be willing to give it a go, make at least the basic set-up. --DutchECK 09:01, 7 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
I almost completely rewrote the page. I used the text that was already present as the basis, but I trimmed nearly all of the trivia and fan-like items. I also added an infobox. The result is a beginning entry, I think. There's some information, but there could definitely be more. So do add to this! --DutchECK 17:55, 30 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Are they Irish?

[edit]

The article doesn't make it clear exactly who is Irish. It only says the original 2 founders.

Keith Roberts and Brendan Holmes are the two Irish members of the band. They are both from originally from Dublin. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jensenly (talkcontribs) 20:46, 4 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Article layout

[edit]

@Restlessinbfe: Since you're currently working on improving and expanding this article, you might want to considered dividing it up into sections as explained in MOS:BODY. There's no one correct way to do this, but you might find some good examples of how it's been done by others by looking for WP:FA or WP:GA articles about bands. You might find the members of Wikipedia:WikiProject Musicians to be helpful. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:26, 18 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thank you! Looking at previous versions, it used to be organized that way but most of the information wasn't sourced. I ended up cutting about 90% of the previous material because I couldn't find sources in a cursory search. If I add more I expect I'll divide it up by their labels again. I've also never done an article before, so I want to fix the mistakes in this version before I add anything else. Appreciate the resources!! Restlessinbfe (talk) 01:30, 18 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
